Aurora Glass Dome | Off-Grid Glamping

Escape into Alaska's wilderness and sleep under the stars in this unique all-glass geodome. Set on 100 acres away from city lights, the dome offers epic Northern Lights views in winter and the glow of the midnight sun in summer.

This is true glamping. The dome itself is a dry cabin — no running water inside — kept warm and cozy by a fireplace. You'll fall asleep watching the sky through the glass. Enjoy the outdoor sitting area for morning coffee or watching the aurora dance overhead.

Your kitchen, bathroom & grill — inside the Boeing 727

About a 1-minute walk from the dome, our converted Boeing 727 airplane home houses your private facilities: a full bathroom with running water, a kitchen for preparing meals, and an outdoor grill. It's a one-of-a-kind setup you won't find anywhere else — brushing your teeth and cooking dinner inside a real jetliner.

The dome sits on the north end of the property, surrounded on three sides by trees for extra privacy. Inside: a comfortable queen bed, the wood-burning fireplace for heat, and 360° glass for unobstructed sky views.

A few things to know so your stay matches your expectations:

The dome is a dry cabin — no running water or plumbing inside. Water, bathroom, and kitchen are in the 727, about a 1-minute walk away.

Heat comes from a fireplace, so you'll keep it stoked on cold nights (we'll show you how).

This is a nature-immersion experience designed for travelers who want the real Alaska, not a hotel.

Adventure tip: Bring slip-on boots and a warm robe for the short walk to the 727. A headlamp is handy in the darker months.

The dome is entirely private and yours alone. The 727 facilities (bathroom, kitchen, grill) are a 1-minute walk away.

The Pilot Lodge spans 115 acres with additional cabins and airplane homes available if you're traveling with a larger group — just ask. The 727 is available May 1st to October 1st. During winter months there is a bathroom, shower and laundry available in a heated utility cabin near the 727. The kitchen and 727 is winterized October 1st to April 30th.

All kitchen, coffee, cooking supplies are inside the 727 and available during summer months.

The sauna is located under the wing of our 727 airplane house and you are welcome to use it. If you need firewood for heating the sauna you can purchase it via your host or scan the QR code on the bundles of firewood for payment.
